As I understand it, they swap out the irs for weight savings, not drivetrain loss...though I'm not sure it's not for both...but they are the same type of rear planetary gears and all, just going through a cv joint rather than a solid axle, but that's shouldn't make any real difference loss-wise.

Anyway, I think we can all agree that the motor without boltons is the same motor across all the cars. Some models bolt on better exhaust and intake lid, affecting the performance slightly(go into denial if you want...), but still identical internals except for the later milder cams, which power loss is eliminated by balancing it with the ls6 intake upgrade.

Nobody swaps out the Vete's IRS unless it is a dedicated drag car because the IRS set-up is pretty tough, especially if you get stronger half-shafts. Whether or not you want to believe me, the IRS sucks up more HP...it is a well-documented fact. Ask the IRS HP loss question in the drivetrain section of this forum...
