Default need help picking exhaust

hey there. i just bought myself a 2000 trans am ws6 and the stock exhaust isnt cutting it for me. i want to put something on there that sounds good but isnt crazy loud or to quiet. a buddy of mine told me to go with the slp loudmouth II with resonator. if it makes a difference im leaving the manifolds and cats on. (might do headers later down the road tho) what does everyone think?

magnaflow or hooker both sound very good and are not too loud.

Dollar for dollar Magnaflow is the best deal IMHO.

i have a qtp electric cutout on the I that leads into a flowmaster and i love the sound of my car and it turs heads and gets compliments all the time.

just wondering JerseyLS1TA will replacing my flowmaster with a magnaflow really effect the sound that much, i ask because does not most of the air already flow out the cutout

Magnaflow has a old school sound unlike flowmaster, its more destint (sp?) and deep while very tame at crusing speeds untill you accelerate or deaccerlate.

If you run with the cutout open all the time then most of the exhaust goes through that so it wont matter what catback you got. But if you cap it you are losing a bit of hp bc of the flowmaster; which flows like ****. I keep mine capped most of the time bc the Magnaflow is one of the best flowing and best sounding IMO. But every once in a while i open it up and the sum bitch screams lol

I actually like the sound of the LM II. I think it sounds pretty good, and it sounds better than the LM I which I have. But if money isnt the issue, like someone else said, GMMG all the way. Amazing exhaust. Next if you want to consider this, TRUE DUALS BABY. The best F-body exhaust notes Ive heard have come from True Duals. Good luck, LM II is a great system for the money IMO.

from my own experience, i had the loudmouth 1, which i loved, until i moved onto long tube headers and an ORY (off road y pipe) at which point it was too much, and I traded for a Hooker catback, which is perfect for DD, and i have an E-cutout for when i wanna be obnoxious...

Just so you know, not a ton of people have the GMMG so it will be hard to find one if you live in an area with not that many F-bodys. They are expensive but they are an exhaust system you dont have to worry about. And another tip, buy from our sponsers when you do go with an exhaust, they are helpful and the prices are good.

I vote Magnaflow... I will probably be getting the universal Stainless crossflow muffler they have that is 3" in and dual 3" out, unlike their "F-body Specific" muffler that is 3"in and dual 2.5" out. Just going for something with a little better flow for the same money.

I put the SS Magnaflow replacement muffler on my Fiance's WS6 and it sounds great. Awesome tone, no drone on the highway, great sound under WOT and it shaved two 10th's off her ET's.

When you do headers what ever you buy now will be twice as load after.

The Magnaflow sounds good. I have one on my SLP CME with a cutout but I am going to change it up to either true duals or a GMMG with the CME tips.

I'm going to say GMMG. Yes it's expensive but it could be a lot worse. The GMMG I have on my car is the 5th exhaust that's been on it. I had, TSP Rumbler, Loudmouth I, Borla, True Duals with chammbered mufflers, and now the GMMG. I spent a fortune going through exhausts but it wasn't until I got the GMMG that I was finally happy.

This isn't the best clip but it does give you an idea of how it sounds:
