Default Kinda the same question...What to do...?

Like another thread that just started I have $1,000 to spend to start modding, I'm unsure if I want headers/catted Y, or if I want a 150 shot or something to throw me deep into the 12's. I would enjoy the speed of a bottle, but at the same time I want more power all the time. But who doesn't enjoy the look on someone's face when they see a bottle in your car?

Anyways, as you can see, my car is bone stock... where to start for $1,000? I have an idea and I know all about modding from my previous LT1 and friends cars but I want some more opinion on the LS1.

100% stock?

AIR LID
Catback
Save the rest for some headers.
That way youll have intake and exhaust and be a couple hundred closer to your next mod.

doesn't the SLP cat-back already flow decently?

I was thinking just change the muffler out with a Magnaflow strait through.

Yeah stock catbacks do flow well on LS1s.You could get headers done for the 1000$Thats parts, install and tune.

Nitrous is always a good choice.Youll probably spend more in the end on that though.

Have you thought about some suspension stuff? For a grand you could get a nice bit of stuff under your car.Lower control arms, sub frame connectors,Qa1 shocks and springs,Torque arm,Panhard rod(obviously not all these for 1k), just to name a couple things.Everyone just wants power but they arent even using what they have at the moment efficiently.

I already have the Bilstein suspension so I wasn't gonna go with LCA's and SFC's until I was puttin down around 380-400 to the wheels.

I planned on doin bolt-on's/nitrous, then suspension, then motor work.

I also could spend the $1k on stereo....

IMO, headers, o/r y, cutout, and a lid. In parts, you are probably looking around $650 or so if you get pacesetters. Another thing that I haven't seen mentioned above is, with the other $350, buy an LS6 intake manifold, and then port your throttlebody yourself, or send it in(think its like $50-70 or so). That way, you would have your intake and exhaust completely done, and when you do add the bottle and/or heads/cam, you will be making more horse.
