GM Card f**ked me over on the bonus dollars.
I called GM 2 years ago and asked about using more of my GM bonus dollars towards a new car. The car that I looked at had a $1000 allowance and they were willing to double it for me to $2000, as I had $6000 accrued in my account. Well, I tried that today on a 2008 Vette, which also has $1000 and they said that I already used up my one time exemption, even though I didn't buy the car back then. They refused to do the same today. They never told me that this was a one time offer that was activated only when you ask. Bunch of bastards.
They screwed me over years ago when they conned me into changing my Gold GM card, which had no limit on the allowance to the Platinum card which has a selected limit. In this case they're giving $1000 off the Vette, but if I kept my gold card, I could have used the whole amount, which is would have been almost $4000.

I spoke to a supervisor at GM Card, and she told me in the nicest way that I was f**ked. She was very sweet about it. Maybe someone here can benefit from this and use their one and only double offer. Hey, I've benefited from the info on this board, so you guys should get a heads up on this. If you wait for the right moment, you can double the allowance.
The 2008 Vette will be for speed and speed alone at the lowest price. The only option will be the yellow paint, and that's it. $42K minus my Z28 in trade (about $13000) which gives me $29K for a new 430HP Vette. I refuse to **** money away on any other option. Hell, it won't make the car faster (straight line).
BTW, are there any other "hidden" discounts, like a Camaro/Vette Legacy discount (remember the $1000 off?), senior citizen discount, you name it. I'll listen to any ideas.

I'm sure GM will give you some sob story and fault people who bought a Toyota or Ford and that's why they treat us so poorly.
GM really needs to shape up, still sorry to hear what happened. Go buy a Carrera and drive by the dealer ship daily

You know, Ive been debating about getting rid of my GM card for a while. My dad got screwed a few times on his. He was when he got it way back that he was "grandfathered in" and he could use as much as he wanted to on car purchases. Bull ****, he cant, he has so many points, I think that it might be over 10k. Im sick of mine, I got 2k right now, but so what when almost every car is 1k limit, but I like the fact that you said that you can do the one time request. Ill have to try that. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. this gets me going hearing the same bullshit.

313-556-5000, but you'll probably have to leave a message for him.

GM loves to buck the customer... my parents had $2000.00 on there GM card and they will never use it so they wanted to give it to my wife and I to put towards another car. They tell my mom that since i'm not living in NC near them that i can't use the money off it even if they put it in my name. Sounds like some bull$hit to me.. its not like they won't make any money so what does it matter where we live compared to them.

These sorry pieces of **** wont even fix the tops of our cars so this does not surprise me at all. But yet we are the ones they want to target to buy this new Camaro.... They need to take care of the current customers if they want to get out of the rut they are in against the Japanese and Korean car manufacturers... And it starts with customer service.

I was only able to use the GM Card $1,000.00 cap/limit on mine as well but I knew that in advance so I was content with it.
