mine was always at 40 for the longest time and would drop a hell of a good bit just riding or idling, then putting my LS6 manifold on this weekend we broke my oil pressure sending switch and when i got the new one it doesn't drop durring idle or constent driving past 40 and flys up as i accelerate

After driving around on a 95 degree day, then sitting at idle for a bit while in gear (like heavy traffic), that's how mine would look.
I wouldn't worry. Unless it was a drastic change from where it used to be.

Hot, mine always idles a bit over 40 psi, about 42-43, 850 idle. Cruising at 2k it's about 58 psi. Stock LS6 oil pump.
The gauges aren't that accurate anyhow, just make sure your oil pressure doesn't start to decline significantly from what it was before, which would indicate a problem.
