with the primary driver as your 40 y/o mom with zero tickets/accidents and you not even listed as a driver, or your the secondary driver and its only liability insurance.

I think its going to take you posting your policy for anyone to believe the figures you are saying. I'm married, 27, have 4 children, no tickets or accidents, excellent credit, multi-car and homeowners policy discounts and I still pay $52 a month for my Z28. Even going through Horace-Mann, which is one of the cheapest rates out there, I would still pay $48 a month, and thats because ONLY educators can get it because they're statistically safer.

Almost all insurance companies consider your credit score when you get a quote, and it is impossible for a 17 year old to have the credit needed to get that kind of rate. IF the numbers you say are correct, I've got a $100 bill right here that says you are not the primary driver on the car and your parents are the one that qualified for that rate, not you. Go online and see what the best deal you can come up with your own is, then post back. There will be some that won't even insure you, and the ones that will are going to cost more than your car payment does per month.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you're getting a deal on your insurance. But it is misleading for you to say that you're only 17 and pay $290/6mo for ins, when it's really your parents that have that rate, not you. Even if you re-imburse your parents for the cost, they are the policy owner and you're an authorized driver. No amount of shopping around will get a 17yo a policy anywhere near that, ever.

Some of you all pay some high a$$ payments. I'm 20, I pay $170 a month for full coverage, I have no tickets or at fault wrecks on my record. I'm with State Farm, been with them for 4 years.

People are so ignorant read my posts before in this thread and it already says I am not the primary driver. No **** an insurance company wouldn't insure a 17 year driver on a F****** t/a ws6 with full coverage for $290 for 6 months, but I am listed on the car so I am on the papers. read the whole thread before telling us how Im lying, and your whole life story about your insurance policies.

Im amazed, just having a 17 year old anywhere on the policy with that car and full coverage for $48 a month is an amazing deal. Who is your policy holder I need to switch...

Actually, you don't ever specify that you're not the primary driver of the car. You keep running your mouth about how cheap YOUR insurance is whenever you aren't the one with insurance on the car, your parents are. Your post are deceptive and misleading because you keep trying to make it sound like you are the policy holder, or that anyone your age can get that kind of deal.

If you're going to post bullshit, get used to people calling you on it. Unless your parents are willing to sell the OP an insurance policy for his car, how much you pay them doesn't really make a difference.

Insurance was ok on my camaro, it was the registration taxes that killed me! My insurance was/is thru MetLife and I think I paid $2xxx a year for my car. I have no accidents, tickets and am a girl too. We put it under my dad's name as the "primary" driver, said it was stored in the garage, didn't leave town (forget what the tech. term is) and that it wasn't used daily or in bad weather. This was full coverage.
