Why would you post that up? If anything you just proved everybody elses point. LS1's are pretty close to that cam only with bolt ons.
So lets see here:$ 2,000 for a cam only ls1 or at least $6,000 for a supercharged Ford that makes about the same power. Smoke another one bro.
Dude, they are at 11:1 CR, that is why. If they were running the normal 9.5:1 CR like typical Fords', it would be MUCH higher.

It's a non IC version, therefore the cost would be under 2K. Not bad for making that kind of HP, not to mention it sounds like a stocker (no lope). How much more lighter is the stang Vs. F-body. Tough crowd. Sorry for bringing it up.

And if the LS1 came with a forged bottom end you could run 20 psi and make over 700RWHP but it doesn't.

Sure, they came out with a expensive *** caddy & kept the corvette goin, but nothing really comparable to the Mustang GT. Quit bringing in all these other categories! GM ****** quit on us, if everyone on this site wasnt so one sided & just face the facts. Fords mustang will remain dominant until gm gets it right. If this new camaro doesnt work out, i wont be surprised if they quit again.
I think you're missing my point. So GM doesn't currently have a car to compete in the same segment the Mustang does, so what? Whats your point, why is that a big deal? I was making a comparison, so GM doesn't have a Mustang competitor, well Ford doesn't have a Corvette competitor, or a Solstice competitor etc. etc, does that mean that GM is "advancing" and Ford is not like you were saying before?
Do you think GM wanted to stop making the fbodies? They were low on money, couldnt spend it to make a new one at the time, plus there was some kind of contract between them and the Canadian plant they were made in.
All your doing here is trying to start trouble, the least you could do is come up with some kind of legitimate argument, not something moronic like hp/l.

Nothing. All I'm saying is you said "If the Mach 1 came with..." when the fact of the matter is that it doesn't so that is completely irrelevant.

If this if that, bottom line it costs more to make the same amount of power. Whoever said the non IC version only costs 2k is wrong. Its more like $4800 not to mention you would have to add in supporting mods. $4800 is just the kit then the exhaust. Edit: I had more down but I guess it comes with most everything. Somebody could buy a kit to install a cam supporting mods and have it tuned for about 2k that's how I figured it up before. I was actually a little conservitive with the SC figure. That's like saying a cam just costs $400 throw it in there. Doesn't work like that.
Edit: Sorry I guess I was talking to lightning bolt. I think they weigh pretty close to the same. The mustang I think is a 100 lbs less. And I love cam lope if anything I think that's advantage cam.

Ok fellas, whether I'm right or wrong, let it go. This guy could probably give a crap about being competitive. I'm one of those people as well. I sold my low 11 second Lightning, which was capable of going deep into the 10's for my current WS6. (Which I love BTW!) This thread is going nowhere. Let it die.

I didn't read this long thread but if thats what you want go for it. I'll see you in my rearview mirror. I think its a good looking car but just not as fast as a LS1. If your not into going fast do it.

he wont have to worry about his rear end breaking but the tremec 3650 will defintily explode with any real power.

Then look into the fuel setups. Everyone goes with 03-04 cobra tanks, and needs to make it a return fuel setup to make any real power.

WHile the ford 8.8 rear end is better then a 10 bolt, it still will break, and is not as strong as a 9 inch. The modular motor is alright, but 4 v cobra motor is definatly better.

My end point would be a mach 1 is a decent car, but i wouldn't buy one to go fast. Well if 12's is fast, then have fun, but if you want anything more, id stick with the ls1.

Chris

Ps. I almost bought a mustang, even drove a couple. Im glad i didn't.
