hole in block f*&k!!!
Ok so my friend and I are in at a gas station when some mustang comes rolling up all bad looking. Well he started talking **** and said that he would walk my friends 98 ta. The a4 ta has a bbk manifold, electric cut outs, slp intake, and a 150 shot of nos. So us being teenagers empty a bottle a few days earlier so the bottle is empty. so we get the mustangs number and ask to race later 0n during that night. We head to my house to pick up my tnt bottle and hook it up to his car and go out to test it. First time we punch it and the nitrous kicks in freaking hard throwing us to the back of our seats, then my brother comes trying to race us in his modified gtp 40mph 2nd gear roll and we are off... we kill it right from the get go, but when the car shifted into third, it bogged really bad and heard a loud pop!! Car shuts off and yah long story short connecting rod got thrown out the f ing block. My car has stock internals and im spraying a 150 alot but never had motor problems. Now im kinda scared to spray...i was under the impression that ls1's could take a 150 shot any day? what’s up guys???

Ah na just keep hitting the spray. With any luck you will throw a rod too and then the road will be a little more safe. Immature teens and fast cars turn into bad outcomes way too much as it is. I had a buddy who talked like you and now he's dead.
Street racing is dumb as hell, especially when you don't have your car properly setup for it.
Just my .02. Have fun

All he asked was why HIS car could be sprayed and why the other TA had problems.
I think it's irrelavent whether or not he was in the street. If he sprayed it down the track it could have blown too. What's your point? It's a lesson learned.

Well, although my comment may have been a bit over the top, I believe my point was clear. I forgot that I was in a forum that endorsed such things. Street racing took a friend of mine and as such sometimes I can't help but throw my two cents in. Take it or leave it.
Since you didn't understand my last point here's another. Upgrading your rod bolts is a great idea and should bolster the engine all you need. Eventually the stock internals will most likely fail. However, if you are racing you need to ensure that you are safe as well. Do you have tires that are z rated? How is your suspension? At 100 mph all it takes is a tiny pothole (or in my area, a deer) to turn a fun race into a trip to the coroners office.
And with that I'll, as Super28Sport stated in his intelligent fashion, GTFO

You can troll throughout this whole website with street racing stories if you'd like. I just advised you to 'GTFO' in an attempt to help you save your own time.

i spray 300 direct port all the time on my stock bottom end. Ive never had a problem with n20 even though i have 230K miles!!
lol. sorry to hear your loss man. my advise is to not spray until you build your motor storng.

i guess some motors arent as strong as others, your friends ls1 just wasnt up to the task of taking a 150 shot of nos. But it does give your friend an excuss to get a built ls1 in his car. good luck with everything.. and you probaly didnt need any nos at all to beat the mustang you probaly wouldnt even need full throttle.
