My car..........sell it? what's it worth?
So I've been thinking about selling my Trans Am for a while. Should I?
It's a 1988 GTA. It has an L98 (350 t.p.i.) and a 700r4. All GTA's and Iroc's with 350's were automatic. It has the original Australian 9-bolt rear with 3.27 gears. The engine and transmission are all original. As you can see in the pictures it's black with a beechwood cloth interior. Only mods to the car are hooker 2055 headers and y-pipe, banks exhaust, Koni shocks, wheels/tires/rotors. It's been tuned by Jeremy Formato. I replaced the old deck (was not working) with a pioneer head unit, and all new speakers. The headliner and carpet are new. It has 48,000 original miles.
I believe the car has been repainted once before, and needs to be repainted again due to sap damage. As you can see, the paint on the car shines well, but up close there is sap damage on the top surfaces of the car. I have to replace the headlight motors and antenna motor, which I would do before selling. I also have a spare OEM nose for the car, because I hate the license plate bracket. The nose has to be installed and painted. I'm unsure whether or not I'd paint the car before selling it.
What do you think it's worth, honestly? Painted vs. unpainted? Third-gens are becoming increasingly rare in better than junkyard condition, and this one is in great condition. It's straight as an arrow, and has never been hit. Thing is, I never drive it, and it sits in my garage. I want to sell it to make room for an M3 or Vette.
Sorry about the essay. Here are the pics.
