ok i have a 99 Z with every bolton and free mod except headers and ls6 intake and got pulled by 2 length by a new z06 tonight doin a 60-120 roll. i dyno'd at 330hp 345torque. will an intake and headers be enuff to take him. and i dont like nitrus

ummmmmm, sorry but that guy in the zo6 cant drive for **** if he only beat you by 2 cars. im not trying to be a dick so dont take it the wrong way but it takes much more than bolt-ons to beat one of those things.

No, probably not. Those things are fast. They dyno around 365rwhp stock but they weigh about 3100 lbs. You're gonna need at least a cam unless you could seriously outdrive him.

A little bit more info on your car might help. Are u an anto or M6. Are we talking about a c5 or c6 zo6? You actually did pretty good for not having headers or and intake and having a about 110 horsepower difference. I ran a stock c6 zo6 with my full bolt on cammed,geared camaro making 450RWHP and i got a half car on him from a 30-110 Mph Roll

I'm 100% sure this guy was talking about a c5 z06. If it were a c6 he would have been destroyed. Why is anyone even asking the question if an ls1 camaro with a catback and TB bypass can even hang with an ls7 car?

Like said before I would imagine it will take a little more than headers and an "intake". But with a good setup and good tune it can happen for sure.

i dunno we did it twice and he won by 2 cars to about 2 and a half both times he said he was wide open and i believe him (he was about 50) and yea my cars an m6. and as far as c5 or c6 i dunno it said z06 on the finder and was new body style. and what is the better way to spend money headers and intake or cam. and how will this stuff do considering this is my only means of transportation for about 2 months

as far as mods go its got port and polished tb all emisions removed every freemod cat-back,lid,cold air intake. just the basics. only had it for about 4 months and dont be afraid of be'n realistic i'm a big boy and can handle a little critasizm. and i did'nt ask if it could hang i knew he would beat me i just wanna know how i can beat him

ummm yea.... I would say its 1 of 2, either someone playing with you, or its a c6 with z06 badges. I would ask if it had the widebody but dont know if that would help. my roomates made 455 w/tune only. And hes making 508 with lt's and an intake, and hes beat our other friends 408 swapped frc thats making 540 wheel pretty bad on the freeway. you would need 150 shot to even qualify to have a prayer.

and they dont have any other emblems, the car has wider front and rear fenders, lip on the front bumper, alot bigger brakes. 150 shot would make it a good race if hes stock. my friend here in town has same mods as i have in sig, makes 350 on the motor, and 450rwhp and 550rwtq on a 100shot and he lost pretty bad from 45-120 on the freeway against my roomate stock with me in the car. to beat one BONE STOCK, at least 450 wheel bare minimum

haha he HAD to have been only playing. 1/2 throttle maybe i'm waiting for the day one makes THAT mistake against mine when spring comes My build is as goes: Z06 heads(Port and polished) MS4 cam w/ 111 LSA, LS6 intake and Ported Z06 T/B Longtubes thru O/R X and B&B mufflers, Custom 3.5 airbridge, ASP underdrive, DTE Rear brace, and upgraded clutch(haven't decided which yet). Doug Rippie Motorsports will be doing the tune and has prior experience with the MS4 and this combo. Says i should be making OVER 470+ RWHP. Let the FUN begin~Cole~

heads cam headers and full bolt ons ls1 should about match a stock ls7 wouldn't it?
