Default LS6 Intake Or 3 Point SFC's From UMI

mods are in my sig. i really want to get an ls6 intake to help my cam breathe and maybe help those shity numbers. but i also want the 3 pt sfcs for a number of reason...rattles, sturdy, traction, etc. so i would like some opinions. if you think i need something else, then by all means let me know. thanks in advance for the help folks.

LS6 intake will absolutely DOMINATE this poll, and rightfully so. SFC's aren't a necessary mod. Some people like them, others swear they're a scam. NO ONE will disagree that the LS6 intake is a great mod. Not only is it great, it's a necessity IMO. With stock internals, they're worth ~20 rwhp when you have full exhaust (usually more like ~15 rwhp with stock manifolds and cats). I wouldn't be surprised if you picked up 30 rwhp by putting on the LS6 intake. IMO, you'd be crazy to take the SFC's over the intake.

haha. you make a very convincing piont chocotaco369. i can agree with what you say. well what the hell should i do about my traction. get some lca's or something. theres no way i would put some slick on the track because i would like to keep my rear end for a lil longer. i mean with the 4.10s, there is absolutely no traction in first gear and hardly in second. i wanna know how hard this thing pulls from first with minimal spinning.

well if you go to the dyno section and look at my post "dyno results with ms3" there are 9 pages discussing all this stuff. haha. so im really not sure what cam is in there. the guy i bought the car from said the guy he bought the car from said that he thought there was an ms3 in the car, cuz he had the engine rebuilt and the guy that rebuilt it put in the cam he thought was the best for his setup. so we dont know for sure. i put up some sound clips and some people said that i might not even have a cam. so i pulled the valve covers tonight and posted the pics to see if i had aftermarket springs and or retainers. so im still waiting on some definitive answers.

Traction issue? Torque arm and Koni shocks. A torque arm will significantly remove wheel hop upon launch and they're not a whole lot of money. Koni shocks are a lot

Between the mac mids and the LS6 intake, you're leaving a good 40 rwhp on the table IMO (of course, assuming you get tuned to compensate for the new mods!). That would put you at almost 375 rwhp, which is decent for a cammed M6 with a mild camshaft. Also, factor in that 4.10's lower dyno numbers, too, so you're seeing more loss from stock 3.42's.

Also, if you had an MS3 and you're running a dumped ORY, you'd know it! If you can't tell if you have a cam with a dumped ORY, you probably don't. If you do, it'll probably me something like a blower/nitrous cam or a CheaTR or something, which aren't very big cams.

is there a lope or any other noticeable symptoms of a cam? maybe some surging? trouble cold starting/idle issues? if u have a cam, then maybe u have a really bad tune... those numbers sound like a bolt on m6 car... either way, ls6 is the way to go... i love my sfcs, but u really need to let that cam realize itself... plus 3-point sfcs are not needed over 2-point anyway, unless u want a heavier car and a lighter wallet...
