400hp stock car question
So, I was wondering, which would you choose? Just throwing this question out there, since I will probably change my mind on what I want for my next car another 5-10 times before I actually commit to one. But still, which, in your mind, would you choose? Oh, I'm only interested in manual transmissions.
1. '04-'05 CTS-V
2. C4 ZR-1
3. C5 Z06
4. C6 "base model"
5. '05-'06 GTO
6. BMW 850CSi (only BMW that I truly like)
Also, hopefully, I will be able to have a dd at the same time, so whatever I were to get would most likely be a garage queen/weekend driver. Have fun with the list, and if you have something else in mid, please, say it!

My something else in mind would be, dont be so discriminatory of an A4 car! haha and as far as my opinion on the car,...I would probably have to vouge for a CTS-V for the way i feel right now, but tomorrow it'd be the C5 Z06,....but the CTS-V you've got graceful class with a big package! lol

ehh, my thing is that I've only owned one manual car out of a total of five cars. When I bought my T/A, I wanted a manual, but of the only two LS1 f-bodies that I found in Florida, the other one was an '01 6-speed with 20k less miles, but they wanted over $5k more for it. So it ended up being this one. Small problems aside, I love my car and tell her that I do on a daily basis, but I really wanted a 6-speed.

c5 Z06 gets my vote. I wouldnt get a CTS-V, a BMW, or a GTO as a weekend cruiser. If it was going to be a 400hp dd then it would be a CTSV. Since you are gonna just use it on the weekend, a 2 seater sports car would be the most enjoyable IMO.

I gotta go with the GTO. If you give yourself a limit on what you will spend like say 20k or 25k or whatever it may be, the GTO would have the lowest miles and be the nicest at that price probably. I also like the fact that they are very comfortable, and contrary to what other people think, they look bad ***.

CTS-V: Awesome car, but heavy compared to the Corvette.
C4 ZR1: Good luck finding one, and its ugly IMO, although a good performer.
C6 "base model": wouldnt bother buying one unless its atleast a Z51. C5 Z06 will be cheaper too.
GTO: Like the CTS-V, good car but heavy compared to the vette.
BMW 8: Another case of "good luck finding one", and if you do find one, good luck finding replacement parts for it. Also I think this may be the heaviest of the group at 4000lbs+. If you want a beemer look into an E46 M3...

my vote would have to goto the C5 Z06 b/c like was said before. if its going to be a weekend car then why not go with a 2 seater that moves out and handles exceptionally well for stock

hey, thanks for all of the input. Surprizingly, even though the wife wants a kid, she doesn't have any problems with me keeping a sports car. We're thinking of something like a Volvo S60R or CTS (although she likes the 300). But hopefully, I will be able to pick up a dd, so that whatever I get next will be a garage queen that I can buy presents

Lotus Exige. Might be down a couple hundred horsepower, but don't ignorantly look at power numbers, because they don't matter. Pounds/hp is where it's at, and the Lotus takes the cake.

Exige: 2000lbs /190hp = 10.53 lbs/hp
Z06: 3100lbs / 405 hp = 7.65 lbs/hp
Vette wins by a lot
Supercharged Exige: 2000lbs / 243hp = 8.23 lbs/hp
Vette still wins and looks/sounds a lot better.

I would go with the C6 myself.
I am surprised to see the 850CSi on there. Like someone already said, good luck finding one. You do know how rare those are don't you? I have driven one, but just around a parking lot, and they are sweet. That was years ago and it's still the only one I have seen in person. Other 8 series, yes, but not that one.

I would go C6, more current and wouldn't be any slower than a C5 Zo6, although I do like C5's more..... touch choice.
I love GTO's, but me personally they are so nice inside I would want to end up driving it every day.
Ok I pick C5 Z06. lol
