Police Inerceptor Camaros
#61
Police Interceptor cars came with forged internals and heavy duty suspension. They were also set up to accept N2O. And bullet proof glass. They filled the doors with bullet resistant foam. They have "hard points" in the ceiling for lights and on the front for a push bar/brush guard and in the drive shaft tunnel for shotgun racks. They had tranny coolers and heavy duty radiators/water pumps. They also had special-ratio gears and hi-po tires for high speed. The ones that came special ordered for fleets had a badge on back that said "Police Interceptor." Here is a pic of one: See it in the left corner?
I hate B4C threads almost as much as Z28 Vs. SS threads (a.k.a. "How much rwhp does ram air give").

Copcar, everything you said is accurate. But you know it is a technicality that a B4C is not a Z28. They have everything that makes a z28 a z28. But as my window sticker shows, chevy did not call them z28's, they were called Special Service Coupes. I never told my insurance company anything other than camaro, they got the vin and it pops up Z28. Mine has the badges put back on and without the door plate good luck telling the difference. Any A4 could also get the GU5 performance axle, it just came as part of the package on these.

true^ it doesn't have Z28 on the code plate. the night I took mine to the track stock it was running 13.54, there were a couple others that were stock with much less mileage running 13.8-14.0.
But if you have a Z28 with the fixed roof and performance axle and no heavy options, our cars would be identical.
When I say nothing special I mean it's not worth any more money than any other in the same condition.

GM got pretty lazy with the LS1 B4Cs. The 91/92 B4C's were the best as far as neat special parts go. The LT1 B4Cs got a handfull of goodies that the LT1 Z28 didnt get. Like a locking transmission dip stick, 160amp alt, poly sway bar end links, 255mph fuel cut off, and the springs were different than Z28 springs. I compaired the springs from my 94 B4C to a set of springs from my friends 94 Z28 and the springs from the B4C were almost an inch taller which would explain why my B4C sat higher than his Z28. The B4C was just an easy one stop shop to order a fleet vehicle. Check one box and you got everything an officer would need in a persuit vehicle or for the stress of any government vehicle. But some day down the road they might be worth more than even an SS. If you are up on your muscle car history you will know that the C.O.P.O. system was a fleet order system just like the B4C package. All the COPO cars were just fleet ordered hot rods. Granted the B4C will never reach the status of a COPO, it is something different than your average Z28 or SS. Anyone can go out and buy a Z28. Not everyone can go out and buy a worn out cop car

I think it's funny because almost EVERYONE who finds out my car was a SC highway patrol car says "REALLY!?!?!?! They took the chip and stuff out before selling it to you right?!?!?!"

This is a great link on the B4C cars. It shows what options you could order.

Below is a link to my 1994 B4C car with 20K mikes. It never saw service and has every option you could get except the Auto trans but that's a good thing.
Look at the photos, you will not see a nicer B4C car.

i friend of mine had a 94 Z28, and said he put in the B4C LT1 cam and reflashed him PCM with a B4C program and the car screamed? He worked at GM dealer and was the only guyt hat worked on the Local B4C cars when they came into the shop. I thought the LT1 cars did have a different cam and tune in the PCM, but the LS1 cars were just a debadged Z28.

You are right the cams are the same. The B4C has the same cam as a Z28.
Well your friend was full of crap.... The B4C has the EXACT same cam as a Z28. If you belive that crap I have a "B4C" cam sitting on my shelf in the garage right now Ill sell you for $30. There was a SLIGHT difference in the program. The only difference was the 255mph fuel cut off (basically the car would not shut down because it wont go that fast). Every other LT1 car I have been involved in tuning has had a 155mph fuel cutoff. EVERYTHING else in the program was the same. Timing, fuel, shift pointed and firmness in the autos.... EVERYTHING. There are so many people out there that are just plain and simply full of ****. Its sad.
