There is not nearly that much difference between the A4 and M6. 0-60 times are nearly the same between the two.
M6 just feels faster is all.

I am very happy with my LS1. I have raced similarly modded M6 cars from a dig and owned them every time. From a roll i get owned. I've had mine over 5 years and i love it. Maybe you need a tune, shift kit and a stall. My a4 is stock,my mods are a lid, cutout and a tune.

Yes, it is deceptive. I will occasionally take off "spiritedly" from a light and think it was nothing special. Then I look in the mirror and everyone else is way back just clearing the intersection .

A4
There are tons of fast A4 cars on this board and local. Its just not for me. I owned a stalled LS1 Trans Am and a stock 99 B4C. Also when I went on vacation in FL i rented a LS2 C6 Auto with the paddle shifter. No way i could ever drive any kind of muscle/sports car with a A4 ever again

one thing you need to understand about the lsx vehicles is that they will "feel" slower than, say a 5.0 stang because of how the motor is built. Just enjoy it for what it is - you have a killer car!

I've owned a few Ford's before trying out the Chevy side. I owned a 92 5.0 LX, and 2 New Edge GTs, you wanna feel how fast an LS1 is, buy one of those er even rent one if you can and drive it.
I have an A4 Z-28 stock, well except I did the free mods now and it is way faster than my GT's/ Lx and even a 01 cobra that I test drove.
Like everyone else has said....you're used to the power. I would h/c/spray/tune and see what you think.
My buddies SS is an A4 with basic bolt ons, stock top end and a 150 shot and it hauls....

An old Time Street racer once told me Cars that feel fast are not fast, But cars that don't feel fast usually are fast. Back in `92 I thought He was Nuts
then I bought my LS1 in `98 and realized he was right.
BTW after driving my M6 for years and years I took a friends A4 SS for a spin once.
It was a complete let down to me. JMO

funny how when you run 14.50, 13's would be awesome
then you hit 13.8 and you're like ****, I'm not far off 12.9
run 12.7, "man, nitrous would put me in high 11's"
high 11's on spray scatters the engine, you think well, if I'm building a motor it's gonna run 11 flat so I can go tens on spray...........
Damn, 9's are within reach, but now I'm divorced because I spent all the money
It is a disease. Kinda like an std, sucks to live with but fun to get.

Let's face it - for what they were in their day in their price range, the LS1 cars were quite fast. There wasn't much that would run with them. And that's still true of modded cars in full trim today.
I agree the M6's always feel faster - dunno why. "Feeling fast" in A4 requires a higher stall converter. The stock one lugs the car down and makes it feel slow. That's what's missing in the OP's current set-up. Of course, after he gets one and gets used to it, it won't feel fast anymore. Then on to the next mod.
