formula vs. corvette
this is just a little bench racing with my boss. i gave him a ride in my car (mods in sig) and he was pretty excited. He says it still wasn't faster than his stock auto covette. i love vettes but i have driven them and had other vette owners in my car and think it is faster. haven't had a chance to race a vette yet though and my boss doesn't have the car anymore or i would call him out on it. what do the expert opinions of ls1 tech think the outcome would be between me and a stock auto corvette? thanks

its more than a catback. its 3 inch duals that dump before the axle. and i don't think i would walk away but probably come out ahead.

Vette's aren't that much faster. Same engine, they just have a weight advantage.
You figure 355rwhp vs. 345 crank hp in a Vette, there you go right there.
That's assuming the Formula driver can drive though. Equal drivers, my money's on the Formy.

He's got a 355rwhp M6 Formula. LT headers, true duals, lid, tune, etc. And the car is lighter than a Trans Am (assuming it's not a 'vert?)
Assuming he is a *good* M6 driver, plus is able to launch the car decently on whatever tires he's got, that setup would kill any 100% stock A4 C5. No question.
Stock for stock, a C5 is only a tad bit faster than a F-body, model year for model year and trans type for trans type.

Formula All the way with those mods! I dyno'd the same except my torque was 371. So it is possible for a forumla to dyno that my mods are in my sig. To bad he doesnt the vette anymore so you could see the out come and his face LOL!

we're talking the same ls1 here, modded, he pretty much has a 50hp and around 40ft/lb more than a vette.
Assuming he doesn't screw up a launch and can shift half decent, the weight difference is around 250lbs give or take considering he has a formula and a m6. That's easily a 12 sec car there with a good driver.
