05 GMC 1ton
Hey all i've got a quick question for anyone who can help me. I've been troubleshooting a common problem on our work trucks (2005 GMC 1TON 8.1L Gas) They will not take fuel until its about above half-tank. I've checked/cleaned all breather hoses comming from the tank and still nothing! Any help would be appreciated!

haha sorry for the lack of information guys...it will take fuel very slowly until its at about 1/2 tank. And by slowly i mean like about a second then click-off and then another second-click off ect... It doesn't matter how slow you try it...same thing!

Sounds like the current Mustangs. They have a saddle tank that is a pain in the *** for refuel. When I had my '05 GT it would take 20 minutes of dribbeling the fuel in to fill the darn thing. That was a major bummer. To my knowledge there is no fix for the problem, however, there is a TSB...but no recall. No such problem with the good 'ole f-bodies

sounds like its too air tight, as in lack of venting and the air is going out the filler tube and shutting the pump off.
i havent seen a newer truck tank so i might be suggesting something moronic, but try pulling the vent tube off the filler neck and plugging the filler neck hole so no fuel will spill out and then see if it fills ok.if it does, you may have to rig up some vent like propane cars have. with a plug that you open to let the air out while filling.
i take it you have already tried the old pulled pump trick?
some older cars that do that need the filler nozzle pulled back so the air will flow past it without shutting the pump off.
