Default who uses mobile1 M1-206 oil filters instead of the M1-107?

just wondering who runs them instead of the M1-107's. they are the same price, and allows for 6qrts of oil instead of the 5.5qrts stock, and they have more filter surface area

Is this the longer filter then the shorter Mobil 1? I heard that was bad because of the potential of it getting sheared by road debris.

The m1 107 comes even with your oil pan at least.

Thats what I ran on my T/A. It gave me a little piece of mind, I do not know if it helped any other way. I always ran six with the short filter anyway. I have not had the Z06 long enough to change the oil in it yet so I do not now how much clearance there is for it on here. We will see....

I run the long filter, M1 or K&N, with 6 qts, have so for years, never found even a scratch on one. The filters on these engines are teeny compared to SBCs, figure the extra filter area can't hurt.

I use the long one, my header is closer to the ground and right next to it. IMO it's worse to bang a header than an oil filter, and I check under there right away if I ever hit anything. Rather see a beat up oil filter than a crushed header tube.

I use the M1 107 filter, and 5.75 quarts of oil. I doubt there's any significant benefit in running the longer filter.

Honestly I run it because it's easier to take off with the headers in the way
