also i did not mention that track conditions were near perfect as well as the weather. but it still seams that their must be something done to this car! we are going to see if we can track down the old owners and see what may be done. but i am still wondering what a bone stock cars time is?

^ Yep, thats what I said in my previous post. I think I nailed it down pretty closely. He had Nitos, P&P TB, cat-back, lid for sure...add on gears, ud, tune, maybe aftermarket clutch and its very possible.

I believe the "ten bolt will explode not matter what" is getting a little out of hand lately. Yes the ten bolt is weak, that is a fact. It is no match for a 12 bolt or 9 in. On the other hand the ten bolts last longer than many people give them credit for. I have seen countless members on this forum with h/c cars in the mid 4s and high 5s hp range on stock ten bolts for thousands of miles. There are some FI guys with over 5 up to 6 on the stock ten bolt. The OP's car is not a race car that is taken to the track every weekend. They just bought it and wanted to see what it would run. If this car had the mods I mentioned in my previous post along with what the op confirmed it had, this is not impossible. The ten bolt will make it down the track a decent amount of times before letting go.
I had my factory 10 bolt for 30k miles in my T/A after the H/C swap, no issues.

those of us that rag on the ten bolt speak from experience, ie boom
the ones that hold for sub 2.0 60 ft times with a m6 are FEW and far between and I'd like to see them last more than 1 pass with slicks. If lucky 2-3 and gear howl...

I agree.... some hold up and some don't. I blew mine up with 4.30's which was tooooo much gear. The pinion gear was just too small and the ring gears too thin to handle the torque of the pinion gear. Ate most of the teeth off ring gear then the pinion shaft broke off. It was a mess to say the least
When I had the 3.42's in, I beat the living dog **** out of the rear and it held up just fine....DR's and all, I never did a high rpm dump though cause i know better.

I have 3.90's and a ls7 clutch which has been very durable for me.....if I launched in first I would always spin pretty bad of the line. Launching in second has worked for me pretty good so far until i get a better rear and dr's
I wouldn't do it with stock clutch and gears...it WILL toast your clutch for sure

Nothing about those numbers makes sense. With that 60' and that trap it should have put up a better time but, as stated, the most impossible part is the mph. No way it's that close to stock. Not a bad thing but it has to have a little more work done to it to pull that trap. Maybe it has a quiet cam.
