Default 17" bump stops

Background: My dad has finally decided to put tires on the set of 17's he's had for most of a year and I'm remembering that you were supposed to change out bumpstops for anything over stock. But do you NEED to do so, and if so, where can I find a set?? Any help is appreciated.

i dont think you have to with the height of the rim, i had 17 inch 10 spokes and no problem, i did however have to lose them for the Zr1s. they were too wide and touched...i think you should be fine though unless you are going 315s or something

SLP sells them. Same ones they used on all the SS cars with the upgraded wheels and tires.

no u shouldnt have any problem at all, just slap those bitches on! if you do just remove them, dont waist your money, i cant think of any scenario that i would bottom out on the bumb stops unless i went all dukes of hazzard for some reason. mine and two of my buddies bumpstops are gone, since we all have 315's and no one has had a problem yet

Thanks for the input. I passed it on, but he seems dead set on getting them anyway b/c it will cost him all of $25 plus shipping. Makes sense for a guy who didn't put tires on a set of ZR1's in PERFECT condition for $250 then complained about how much it would cost to put tires on them. Oh, and got the firehawk center caps.

17" rim with a 275 tire came stock on WS6's, you will be fine. However my 12.5" wide drag radial rubed them so they are long gone. All in all, unless your doing something in like a 315, i wouldnt worry about it. Save the cash on a set of locking lugnuts or something.
