Thumbs down Hit and run on my baby!

My wife just told me (I am in the desert with the Air Force) that some ******** pulled a hit-and-run in a parking lot, messing up my pass. side headlight.

What do you guys think the cost to fix it will be? My wife said that there is not apparent damage to the hood. She checked all the seams and you can see in the picture that they seem to line up. But the light cover slid up under the hood which you can see in the picture. The light still flips up and turns on, so hopefully I just have to get a new cover? Anyone have an idea what this will run? Estimate on Monday.

I talked to my wife about keeping the car cleaner already too, so no comments about the bird $#it.

Ain't bad. I figure you can get her fixed up for less than $1000 if you need a new bumber. If it is ONLY the headlight cover, then you should consider yourself fortunate.

From what I can tell it looks like you just need a new headlight cover. Maybe a new headlight assembly if it got damaged too which is possible, but it doesn't look like it should cost too much.

You're making me feel a lot better than the guy saying I'll probably need a new bumper Sparky. Any idea how much a headlight assembly costs? I would have to replace it if it got bent up.

Wish I knew, but I don't, sorry. Junkyard may have one for fairly cheap. White is common enough you might even find one of the right color and not have to worry about paint costs either.

sounds like the wife hit something and doesn't wanna fess up. hehe, joking of course. But a headlight assembly will be about 80 bucks, that's without lamps, or so my local junkyard has told me.

You can sand down the scuff on the bumper. Seems to be a pretty cheap fix. PM and I can explain the whole sanding down part.

Bird crap is slightly acidic and over a period of time can discolor paint. (No Joke)

i had a similar accident in my old 00 ws6. final bill was $3823. but i needed a new fender, headlight assembly, bumper. if its just the bumper and headlight cover assume about $1500 if you need a new headlight assembly, i can get you one for GM parts cost which is about 40% less. let me know if you need anything, just pay for the part and shipping.

Some people are real ********. Sorry about the car. Depending on the extent of the damage I'd say somewhere in between 900ish and 1800ish, being done by a reputable body shop. You could do it yourself for much less. Sucks that some people in this world are such ******* scum.

You guys are ******* awesome. Like I said, if I wasn't in Iraqistan I would definitely do the work myself. I've never done body stuff before but it's mostly bolt on stuff and even if I fucked it up, I'd be in about the same spot.

My wife cleaned the car today by the way. After much persuasion by me. Which is hard in my situation, but it's important so I made time. I don't care what she says about ls1tech.com being my real love, the response from you guys is awesome.
