What Will Your Next Car Be ... ?
This is mostly for guys who use their LS1s as daily drivers:
Given gas prices, the age of our cars, and the face that new is new, What kind of car are you thinking getting next?
Will you hold onto your car, trade it in, sell it?
Are you thinking of going for more economy or staying the speed route?
Just a thought I had today driving around.
I'd love to shoot for a 3 series, but I might go w/something easier on the insurance and that maybe uses regular instead of premium ...

I would love to stay with the speed, but it looks like I am going to have to go economy. I just graduated college and got engaged. School loans and the fiance' are going to take most of the go fast money. Was thinking C6, now I am thinking Vibe. It's a sad story really...

I was thinking the same route but then I realized the difference in gas consumption between an ls1 and, say even something like a 3 series or a little audi is negligible, just check out the http://www.fueleconomy.gov website. Hell even the 2.2l inline 4 honda s2000 gets worse mileage than an ls1
The whole thing about bigger engines using more gas isn't as big of a factor as 1. weight and 2. driving habits

Probably a C5 Vette or Viper down the road...plan on keeping the WS6 for a little while though. Also been looking into bikes lately, I want something new, but if im a new rider, I'd rather drop a $2500 bike then a $9000 bike.

My next car is going to actually be two vehicles..
1 - 2010 Camaro SS M6 in Black
2 - 199x Acura\Honda 4banger 5-speed.
One beater, one for fun. One for gas mileage, one for eating GT500's. You can guess accordingly.

I'm not planning on ditching the 01 ls1 for quite a while, and don't have a place for a second car, so I expect my next ride hasn't come out on the market yet.
If my current TA holds to the pattern of my last two cars, I'll get it up to about 145,000 miles, and then some dufus will hit me and total it.
I'm at 60k miles now, I put on about 10k a year, so that's eight years left, if history repeats itself a third time. Considering I'll buy used to avoid the depreciation, say a 3-year-old vehicle, my next car will be something from about the 2013 model year. Electric Corvette, here I come...
