As someone who has owned both, it depends on what you are looking for. My 99 Cobra had Bassani LT's a Magnaflow X and Borla race catback. It sounded alot more deep and throaty at idle than my Vette does. Now the Vette has TPIS LT's , Magnaflow X and a Corsa catback and it sounds better IMO at high rpm...almost exotic especially over 6,000 rpm.

Having had some seat time in my formula with bassani duals, I consider it to be better sounding than most mustangs I've heard. Mustangs sound good, but a bit too loud for my taste, and don't sound as good up top.
Like GERMEEZY1 said, even with stock manifolds/cats, my bassani sounds exotic up top and fairly loud/refined down low. I can imagine what some long tubes would do. It is very similar to what I've heard on quality C5 exhuast set ups. I have NO rasp at all. Plus I can make it very quiet when needed.
The sound is so sweet in 5th gear at about 75 mph......
