Default installed new poly trans mount, talk about harsh!

I ordered a set of prothane trans & engine mounts. I didnt do the engine mounts yet, but I installed the trans mount today. I may be taking that thing back out cuz I can feel a lot of harshness transmitting through the car now. The exhaust even sounds different from it. I may not even do the engine mounts either. I will drive it for a few days & see how it goes.

Try adjusting the position of the mount in relation to the crossmember. I found when I installed my torque arm relocation crossmember the first time, I didn't take care to make sure everything lined up ok. I got a crazy feel from the rear like something was off and even had a vibration at 60mph that felt almost like a driveline harmonic. After playing around with it and pushing on the transmission to shift it's position in relation to the mount, I think I've gotten it straight as I've been able to take it to 60 without vibration and even played at 160 to find it quite stable.

Don't. Stupid move. One guy blows up his tailhousing out of the 120,000 people on LS1Tech and that sways you? My car has had an Energy Suspension tranny mount for 2 years now with no problems.

I had the same problem i bought the kit and put the trans in first and didnt like the way it felt very harsh i thought maybe it raised the height and caused the vibration.. i love the poly motor mounts but went with the stocker for the tranny.

I just put a ES trans mount in last week (have poly motor mounts already), and it feels fine. No extra vibration, no harshness.....just feels more solid and my shifter doesn't move as much.

I tried the prothane poly mount on mine. I kept in on about 1/2 day (20 miles or so).
I just could not deal with the vibration. Went back to stock mount. A few months later installed a Spohn adjustable torque arm that took the front mount of the trans tail. I haven't had to replace another trans mount since. I used to lose 2 to 3 a year before
