hello LS1 owners i have a question for u . have u guys raced a mach 1 and what was the outcome .thanks

 

My brother had an 04 and I beat him all the time. He had a CAI and a CB; I have a lid and a CB. He sold his 04 and bought an 07 GT vert.....I beat his vert too.

 

my boss has an 04 mach with 4.10's, CB, offroad X, and my 2000Z28 with a lid only owns him on the top end.

 

Couple of my ls1 friends have raced stock v. stock and its usually ls1 all day from a roll (mainly 3rd gear) and a pretty decent drivers race from a dig.

 

aren't they still below 300hp factory?

not much competition for a 320hp LS1

Actually no, Mach1s are rated at 305 from the factory, but are found to be a tad underrated, they're known to put around 280 to the wheels if I remember correctly.. about 320-330hp, and you are underrating the LS1 a little too. 320? try 340-350

 

please show me and LS1 that puts down 340-350 at the wheels. i know you probably meant fwhp(flywheel, not front wheel) but if you say the mach was underrated and then say it puts down 2xx stock RWHP, do it for both, so there is no loss in clarifcation

 

several m6 ls1 cars have put down 310+ to the wheels stock. yea he means 350 bhp, but still. and to the OP i took down a mach 1 real easy, course they were fat, so that didnt help, but it still wasnt much of a challenge.

i raced lightly modded manual mach vs. my 98 auto ls1 with stock manifolds,ory,blowmaster,lid a year ago...we raced 3 times, a 25 roll(so my car would down shift), and 2 50 rolls and i took him everytime by a good amount...

now im just waiting for the mustang guys to come on here and call BS....

 

i raced one many many mods ago and beat him no contest. I think it was on 04. Unless there's a snake somewhere on the car i wouldn't fear a mustang. Hell most the time i won't even waste my gas.

 

yeah i think an ls1 is the faster car. i raced one going home from the track one day and beat him but he had a passenger. pulled like 3 lengths on him so prolly w/o the passenger i still woulda won.

 

haha i do agree...but the mustang drivers do have that big ego!! its always nice to beat the cobra's too, because they have the SUPERCHARGED car that is supposed to be unstopable!!!

 

I own a 2003 Mach 1 5spd & a 2000 SS 6spd

2000 SS stock > Mach 1 stock

But it could easy be a drivers or a "condition" race...
There are alot more high mielage beat up Ls1s out there than Mach 1s...I wouldnt doubt if a clean low milaged Mach has jumped on or beat some LS1s due to poor up keep or a bad driver...

If you cant beat a stock Mach it means you should get your car checked out or you gotta improve ur driving...
It would be a good test for a stock car to make sure it is performing like it should and your driving skills.

 

i never ran into a MACH 1. but from what i hear is that they can actually give us LS1 guys a run. but i hear we have a slight edge.

 

There are two here in my town.a gray one and a red one.the gray one has a tb and a cat-back of some sort and i pulled about a car and a half on him from a dead stop.the red one has a slp cat-back,intake spacer and been dyno tuned.the red one got me by about a half car from a dead stop up to about 120ish.and from a 30 roll to about 145 i pulled him by about a car.

 

One tried to take me down from about a 70 roll. After putting a mile between the two of us, he never bothered catching up. I had my APS twins at the time

 

Got one a couple of months ago. He had x pipe cold air & tune. I had free mods, lid and DR's. Both standards and I got him by 2 - 2 1/2 lengths from the dig. Mine has 115k and not sure about his but not near that high.
