02 z28 to GTO or what?
I have a choice now of either keeping my paid for 2002 Camaro z28 with 72k miles, and putting about 5k into it to fix up all the little problems *power windows, etc.* and adding full exhaust, full suspension, stall, small cam and fixing up a few scratches OR trading it in for an 04 GTO with 50k miles with full exhaust already. The trade would cost me 5k. What would you guys do? Am I ok with a 72k mile Camaro for a long while? I don't know why recently i've been worried about mileage and reliability on my car, but help me out here guys with some opinions. Thanks!

I would keep the Z and put the money into it.The mileage don't mean anything as long as you keep up on your car.I posted how many miles does everyone have on there cars and got cars that had well over 100,000 and still running strong some had 200,000 on them w/ no problems and the z is 300 lbs lighter w/ the same motor.

That wouldn't be a trade up, more like a trade lateral. If it was a 05 or 06 goat with the ls2A or c5 it would be worth considering. I've owned a lot of cars in my life, my last two gm's (vette and camaro) have been the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Now I've just jinxed myself dammit. But with just 72k on it, it's just getting broken in, it has a long life ahead of it if maintained well. It's already paid for and it's cheaper to mod, I'd keep it if it was me.

At first glance. The GTO looks like a big Honda Civic or a remodeled Grand Am. I would keed the Z bro!! even tho up close the GTO looks pretty cool. Last night outside of starbucks from a distance i saw what looked initally like an older Honda Civic. It was pretty loud. The the girl i was with said" i hate Ricers!". I said "its not, thats a LS engine i hear, its a GTO". Stick with the Z, people will be able to distinguish what you are driving. my .02!

I would defiantly keep ur camaro over a 04 gto especially. First off it will be SLOWER. That is a fact. 2nd off, if you want an new car id suggest looking at a vette and dont bother changing over to something more expensive and slower.. The gto will be more comfortable over your camaro but thats about it.

dont know, depends on what you want, the GTO probally rides a bit better, is more comfy and has a nicer interior. but the GTO is slower gets worse gas milage and is slower. the trade off seems to be a little more comfort and refinement for performance. thats said personally I really like the look of the GTO.

The only thing that I wish were different about my car, is the fact that it is an a4. If I could straight trade for an m6 camaro/ta I would in a heartbeat. This GTO is an m6, and that is the thing that really keeps me thinking about it. It rides great, is faster than my camaro *it is modded*, but it isn't a camaro and will never be. So i'm stuck because i'd really like an m6, and I just don't know what to do.

Out of all the many many thousands of dollars Ive spent on my car the !car payment one was the best. Its awesome when you can look at your car and know its yours, nothing like it.
Keep the Z, unless comfort is that big a deal to you, then get the GTO

And if you're dead set on the M6, (I feel you pain, I have an A4 too) I'm sure a M6 swap into your Z is a heck of alot cheaper than the 5k it'd cost you to get into the GTO. And once again, it's still an LS1. If it was the 6.0 LS2 it'd be more appealing. And the 22k mile difference isn't huge.....it all depends on how the car was taken care of.
