It took me four years just to find the hidden cupholder...Haven't come across a spare tire yet.

My spare prob has plenty of air in it, wherever it is... maybe heaven? hell? where do you think spares go when no one wants to love them? Spare orphanages?

I just checked mine a couple weeks ago. It was low by 15PSI so I filled it back up. It has never been used though, and I hope it stays that way.

I had my spare out to remove my monsoon amp the other day and noticed it was low on air. When I filled it to 60 psi (what it says on the tire) the damn thing wouldnt fit back in it's place! I had to take it down to about 40 to get it in, anyone else have this problem?

lol no didn't have that happen. I filled mine while it was still mounted though, so maybe I won't be able to get it out if I need it

You probably COULD, but I've never heard of any NHRA/IHRA sanctioned track letting someone run with spare tires, you'd have to replace the tires with something for a motorcycle.

I've got a little Craftsman one that fits right under the driver's seat. About 6" x 8". Plugs into the cigarette lighter. Has saved me and many others. Don't leave home without it. I don't want to have to put the donut on.

I just checked mine.. checked to make sure it wasn't in the car.

Toss it, I wouldn't drive my car on a donut anyways. If you have a problem, get it towed, or switch to a diff wheel/tire combo.

I have 10 wheels/tires for this car.. so I would take my pickup + floor jack + wheel/tire and be on my way.

No, the spare is a 16". Somehow I believe it's a bad idea to run different size wheels.

it doesent matter since the hight of the spare 16' is the same as the 17, the 16 jus has more tire on it. and yes my spare is safe and sound in its area its hard sacrificing 39lbs

Running a diff wheel size can have several effects. It's hard on differentials because the smaller wheel will be spinning higher rpms than than the opposite side. It will have an effect on your ABS brakes as well, since they work off of the wheel speed sensors. The smaller diameter of the spare will show higher speed than the larger diameter of your regular wheel.

If you don't have the right size spare, and it's not properly inflated, it does you no good. I have 17s instead of the factory 16, so the spare will do me no good. Take the weight out, IMO!

People! Rim size does not equal overall tire height(overall tire height * pie = rolling distance) Our 16",17" and 18" rims all have lower aspect ratio tires hung on them to be 25.66 overall tire height.
Spare's are a very good idea for DD.

Smaller wheels will have more sidewall in the tires to keep the overall wheel/tire size to OEM specs. Same with bigger wheels and less sidewall.

I worked on a civic with 20's once. The tires were like rubber bands, lol.

ps - fix a flat doesn't seem to do anything but make me extremely itchy all day and make me take longer on your car because now I have to clean the machine that has jizz all over it. lol

The GTO spares weigh 26lbs with a tire on them, and they are 17's. BTW, they do make good drag skinnies...

The spare works just fine with 17's or even 18's. They say never put the spare on the rear because of the power issue I rotated my front to the rear when I have a flat and it ran just fine..
