I ditched the spare within a month of getting the car. Now a 10lb nitrous bottle sits happily in it's place.

I tried my spare set of wheels on tonight. Wanted to see how they were going to work out before the Pontiac Uprising race next weekend. I think they look good... not the first time someone has done all black, but it looks OK. Most GTO guys are using a 1" spacer/ adapter on the fronts to make them look right. I will probably go that route eventually if I keep these. Right now, I have $130 in this whole set of wheels/ tires, including the used M/T 275/40's. The wheels were turned away a little in the 2nd picture, but they do set in a little further than I would like.

i saw this thread last week and it got me thinking. im like why keep my keep my spare if its useless? so anyway, i check my spare today and thought to myself if i should keep it in there or not. then im like i got a jack too. i try the tire iron and it wont even fit on the lugnuts with my aftermarket rims (tire iron too wide). anyways i just kept them in there as is and bought a can of fix a flat. doesnt hurt to have it in there.

Fix-a-flat does not work All it does is **** off the tire guy dismounting your tire while getting **** all over his shirt and machine.

Fix a flat does work. I've used my spare like 5 times in 4 years. I have bad luck with tires.

I've seen really thick slime type stuff work for a little bit but it's by far a permanent fix.

Thanks. I had some guy litterally run me down on the street the other day just to tell me the same thing.

i wish i would have checked my spare before i got a flat. i turned out that my spare was slashed and put back in the holder
good thing i was across from a wal mart and just bought a plug kit and did it in the middle of the gas station parking lot.

I don't know if I got the wrong spare with my car or not, but with being lowered I tried to use it ONCE and the car sat so low on that corner I could not get the jack back out. Ever since that I don't carry that spare, I carry my full size stock wheel & tire in the trunk area, fits perfect.
