Default True weight

Whats the true weight difference between the Fbody and the Vette? We're talking overall (gross) weight?

about 600lbs give or take, really it depends on which model fbody and vette you are comparing since some models are lighter heavier than others.

Wow thats a lot. No wonder the Vette's are so much faster, they have the aero advantage to boot.

Ya. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most stock LSX 'Vettes are around 3100, and most stock 4th gen f-bods are pushin close to 3700. Maybe the f-bods with leather and all options are even a tad over 3700.

Though some of us are trying to get our f-bodies down close to the Corvette's weight. ..And of course some are already there, check out the Drag Racing section.

My Camaro came to 3650 roughly with me in it, since I'm 230lbs that put the car in the 3400 territory. No I don't really need a diet, I'm just big boned! (and can cycle for 6 hours straight per week...)

That looks about right. My 94 Z28 with a full tank is right around 3450. I don't have any power options, hard top, cloth seats.

Looks like the new Vette gained some weight.

These newer vehicles like the 2010 Camaro and Challenger are making our 4th gen cars look like light weights.

Have an 05 accord that's around the 3200lb mark... not exactly light weight. New cars have all sorts of newer safety features that add weight... kinda makes you wonder who'd win in a crash, newer econobox or our cars...

My Z stock when I got it weighed in at 3270lbs, and that was about 3/4 Tank of Gas.

After everything that has been done to it now, I estimate it at ~3300.. I haven't had the chance to weigh it.

My car weighed in at 3655 with me in it (140ish at the time, now at 160), half a tank, and my spare+tools.

600 lbs makes a bigger difference. I thought the F-bodies weighed more than that.

I have had my car on 2 different semi-truck scales and I beleive they are accurate within 20lbs. My car, 00 2000 ss with leather interior, monsoon speakers, 12 disc cd, 275/40/17 slp wheels, slp suspension package, M6 and 1/2 tank of gas weights 3440 on both scales. I have no spare tire or jack. I added headers, removed egr/air/cats and now is around 3420 with 1/2 tank of gas. Those factory mainfolds and cats are heavy!

My car was 3750 with a half tank of gas and me (150 lbs.). Iron block+9''=heavy. Now it'll be even heavier with that freaking 4l80e in it. I can't lose any weight, so I guess the car is going to have to.

From what I've heard a 550 HP TA, is still slower than a 450 HP Vette. Extract 500 HP from the Vette and you see where this is going...

My car weighs 3400 even. I'm a hard top, no leather, single cd monsoon equipped car

I think with the deleted AIR/EGR, Back Seat, Spare and Window Washer Reservoir I'm closer to 3300

I don't think the extra 200-350 pounds are going to make that much of a difference. The aerodynamics on the Vette are much better but still with an advantage of 100hp i seriously doubt the vette would win
