Buying TBSS?
I was thinking about buying a TBSS and was wondering what everyone thought of them. I want a nice street truck and it wont be driven in winter. I was wondering how they respond to bolt ons, cams, or boost. Should I be looking at AWD or RWD with DR's. What are some pros and cons to these cars. If I it could hot mid 12's without a power adder and be daily drivable, that would be nice. let me know what you think.
Thanks

I was thinking about buying the same thing but it would have to be awd, To me an suv or full size truck is just not for a guy unless it's 4wd or awd, just my .02,Don't think there's much of a difference in performance between awd vs 2wd.

I've run my 1SS 2WD 06, dynoed 329rwhp stock. Ran 13.84@99 on a 2.1 with the spare dropped out, it's 60-70 lbs. I am going to do CAI, e-fans, ported OE TB, and a tune and hope for at least a 13.3.

We've got a stock 06 AWD, and whenever I get to drive it, I love it. Haven't done anything to it yet, but would love to so a stall and tune.
A converter is the best thing for them I hear. That and a Magnuson.

I love my TB SS.
I have the AWD version, I figure if I am buying an SUV why shouldn't it be AWD? I don't want to be that poor shmuck in the winter with an SUV that is just as bad as any other car.
Yes the interior isn't perfect, but damn I love the seats. Best part of the car IMO. Also, the MPG isn't as bad as I thought. As long as your not in the CITY CITY you should get 15mpg. I average 17-18 on the highway and have gotten 22 highway before (not like for a second but for a while, 60mph/cruise control/drafting a semi).

I know TBSS's have gone down in value...we bought ours Certified used with about 25000 on the odometer for 26,000. A 3SS with everything except disc changer. Now there is a blue one at the same dealer, 3SS with 9800 on it, but no NAV or DVD, for 24999.

I have an 08 and it is my favorite vehicle that I have ever had. I got the 1SS because I didn't really care about the leather or changer. It is a 2wd. I mean why get the awd if you don't need it? Thats like all of these people that get big 4wd diesel crew cabs and they have an office job and never get off road. Mine is completely stock and for what it is, I think they fly. There is no way in hell I would EVER buy a dodge. Everyone I have ever known that has owned a dodge has either hated it or had many problems with it. I am Chevy through and through.
That is true but that is because of the economy and all of the discounts and sales and gas prices. If the economy was booming then this wouldn't be a problem. The TBSS is not the only thing loosing value so don't let that make your decision. Everything that is for sale, (houses, cars, bikes, etc...) have lost value. It is a buyer's market right now.
