Ideling akward

I am trying to figure out why whenever my car is at a stoplight for a couple seconds the rpms dips down to around 400 rpm and then recovers to about 550 rpm and continually does that. The entire motor is stock internal. any ideas why this is happening?

mine was doing this because it got out of timing because it wasnt tuned right..also check fuel pressure regulator

there is no fuel pressure regulator on an LS1. instead it has something similar that i've heard called a fuel pressure stabilizer or dampener. you'd probably got some carbon buildup in your throttle body and idle air control passage. i'd inspect the throttle body and check for any vacuum leaks.

Dumb question maybe but is it when the car is hot? Could be the load from your fans kicking in. If not do as said earlier clean your sensors real good with MAF cleaner and if you want reset the PCM by pulling the fuses.

My car is also doing this. It does it more so when the car is first started after sitting awhile. After a few minutes of swinging around 400 - 1000 rpms once it warms up to normal op. temp it doesnt do it anymore. But I have no idea why it does that
