I checked for vacuum leaks and i couldnt find any but I could check again.
what else should I check if they come back? This may sound crazy but I believed my gas cap was left untightened a few days ago. could that throw these codes?

Loose gas cap would probably just throw an EVAP code. Do you have something to read the 02's? www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic9369.php

I do not. For a quick run down the car seems to ride fine. It's a daily driver with 38k on it and stock besides a catback and lid.
Idle is perfect too. Should I check my fuel pressure? Could the pump be going? The only code I had was for my one cat which GM replaced under warranty.
Both codes seemed to pop at the same time. I got the SES then it went off in about 12 miles and I got another one about a month later which also went away and has yet to come back.

I also just wanted to make it clear the codes did go off and stay off for a long while until the next one popped. Could a bad tank of gas cause something like this?
I am just saying this my car runs real good and I can't pinpoint any problems yet. I cleared the codes out after i scanned, so I think I will wait for them to pop again before I go all nuts buying sensors and new parts.

I had the same codes a while ago. I had a jegs (dynomax) catback and the codes would randomly come on and off. I changed to a hooker catback and i have not seen the codes since. I think it may have to do with a restrictive muffler at low rpms. I noticed the codes would come on at low speeds and low rpms. There was no idle issues but the shifts were softer than normal.

^Nope. And I am still looking for a leak whenever I can. The code went off and then I deleted it with my scanner. It's been a week and nothing popped back up. We'll see what happens I guess.
