window track roller arm broke,,,any ideas for a fix?
My 94TA Dside window bracket(metal bracket bolted to window with rear roller on it) broke where the roller arm connects to the bracket so the window falls into the door. Anyone know if this metal is weldable,,,,I tried a 2part metal epoxy but its really cold in Chicago so it took 2 days to fully cure and then broke within 10 minutes of use.any ideas?thanks

This is my method that I used on two different cars and it has worked flawless every time and I have not heard any problems since I have done this with the cars.
1) open door
2) Remove door panel
3) Remove weather sealer (plastic cover)
4) remove the vertical track that the window moves up and down with.
5) Remove slider that attaches to the window, that broke off.
6) Remove the ball end from the back plastic guide wheel.
7) There will be a little nipple where the slider went into the window that it broke off from.
8) Drill a hole in the metal pivot where you ground it down at.
9) Thread the hole corresponding to the bolt that you will be using to replace the nipple.
10) Get a bolt and washer that you can use with the pivot and ball end.
11) Replace the black roller guide on to the pivoting ball end.
12) Install the slider back into the guide.
13) Install the vertical guide back into the door cavity.
14) Raise and lower the window corresponding to the position of the slider in the guide. (most likely with the window halfway down)
15) Pull the window into the slider. Lining up with the hole in the window bracket and hole in the slider.
16) Thread your new bolt into your newly threaded hole.
17) Tighten it down, and snug it, with loctite.
18) Check to see if it correctly slides
19) Drink a beer and be like...Im the muthafuckin man and everyone should know it.
20) Thank me. =)
Hope that helps.

HAHA!
No I haven't. You should not have any problems with bolting it. Because when you tighten the bolt down it will grab the bracket attached to the glass and it should not move too much. So crack or no crack you should be fine. The one I fixed for my buddy about a year ago is still holding strong.
Also if you feel the need you could always drill yourself a new hole in that bracket and move the slider up a half an inch. You should have clearance at the top of the vertical running bracket because the stop on the regulator should hit before then.

If this were to become a sticky, I would like to add the following approach. If you have a welder and have the skills or know someone of that nature, you can also do this.
You will need to wrap a wet rag around the plastic part so it deosn't melt with the heat.
OR you can go to a junkyard and find a "not broken" one.
