2000 ss my gauges quit working!
Help , I decided to take the 2000 ss camaro out on christmas day after sitting in the garage. When I started it and backed it out of the garage I noticed that all of the idiot lights came on, and the gas gauge dropped to empty and the car seemed to be running rich. So I shut it off and restarted it and everthing worked for a couple of seconds the it happened again and when it did the engine tone changed and idled slower. I shut it off and restarted it a few times and the same thing happened. I haven't used it in a little while but never had a problem like this before. The car is a 2000 camaro ss conv. I bought it 3 years ago totaled and it took about a year to repair it had about 24k on it then now has about 32k. I think this may be a bad ground. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You can check it but i think you would have more problems than that.Get access to a scan tool preferably a Gm tech 2. Check for DTC's starting with "U" these are network DTC's. These are on the class 2 data line which communicate with the instrument panel cluster. So you might have a communication problem or a bad instrument panel cluster. If you need more help when you diagnose it let me know

Well i think autozone scans for free but i don't know what they scan with. A dealership depending on their labor rate, would probably charge you around a $50-$60 for a 30 min diagnosis. I guess you would at least know whats wrong with it if you brought it to the dealer its just going to cost you.
