Default Slight Misfire

I've got a slight miss, it has yet to set of any codes but I can hear/feel it. Is there a way to test the coil packs? The plugs and wires are quite new and I'm sure theyre not the cause. The car is the one in my sig. Thanks for the help

There could be a number of reasons. Is there any specific RPM or throttle position it occurs at?

It seems to be between 2k and 3k, once above 3 it seems to go away; there is a noticeable increase in power. Also,is if i put my hand at the tail pipe I can feel several exhaust pulses that are cold. Could it be an injector? It feels similar to a clutch slip but there's definitely not the case.

Well, don't take this wrong, I've had a lot of cars and a lot of problems that I have learned from. So when you say you are SURE it's not the plugs and wires, it makes little bells go off for me. So maybe check them one more time before moving to the coils. That's just my .02c

I understand what you mean, but if it were the plugs and wires would it not misfire throughout the whole rpm range. Its only doing this between 2k and 3k, but I'll check them again.

One plug gap too wide can cause a misfire-you might want to double check as you say they are quite new.

Cool will do that again. The first time i checked them they were still gapped properly, but once more can't hurt.

So I checked all the plugs and the gap on them was good. The wires still fit nice and tight like they should. Now where do I go?

[QUOTE Less common causes include bad spark plug wires, worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak ignition coil, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or weak valve springs. If a misfire is occurring in only one or two cylinders, you will usually find a misfire code for that specific cylinder rather than a random misfire code.
][/QUOTE]
That quote is from a useful website I found on random misfires- but usually accompied by a code.If you were getting a code for one cylinder then you could swap coils etc till you find the problem. Can you tell which cylinder by one of the plugs looking different than the others? Did you happen to notice that?

If we assume thats where the misfire is, probably the easiest part to swap would be the coil maybe? Then at some later date pull #2 plug again and the cylinder that you put the coil on pull that plug also and see if it appears that is now the cylinder misfireing.Sounds like a lot of work and then it could be injector and I don't know how to test that other than an ohm reading.Or maybe buy one new one and see what happens.Just throwing ideas at you.
