Default Catalytic converter replacement

Just replaced one of my cats with the GM warranty. I'm hoping the other one hangs in there. I was wondering how many of you have had to replace one or both of your cats? How much mileage was on your car when the replacement was necessary? Please don't vote if you have customized your exhaust system and voluntarily removed the cats. I'm looking for the actual number of failures. Thanks in advance!

The GM extended warranty just applies to the LS1 00-02 F-cars.

When I had my formula (02) had both replaced at approx 21k, again at 39k, and again at 55k, was at around 65k when it happend again, (thats when I finally got the recall notice), by then I had an aftermarket setup.

Well it is happening more and more with the newer cars. With gas getting shittyer, I see a lot more failures at the dealer than a few years back. I am replacing atleast two a week. Cat with low flow. I did not vote since it did not really apply top me, but threw in my two cents for you.

Thank you! It pays to put in the best premium fuel apparently. I was and still do (BP Amoco premium) but I had one bad tankful of another brand (water) on a recent trip and maybe that did my cat in.

Bump...There must be a few more than 11 owners that know the history of their cars. I realize many are 2nd and 3rd owner cars but there must be more of you out there. Maybe I'm wrong. Thanks to those that voted, and your comments too.

I believe it's 8yrs/96000 miles on emmission equipment and 10/120k on cats.

my 98 went 65K or so without any cat issues.

When I reinstall them, I expect them to still work correctly
