Exclamation help asap asap asap asap asap car died after a4 swap first turn on

i just finished my m6 to a4 swap, i turned the car on and it was fine, the battery was dead so i had to jump it to get it to turn on. so i did. almost immediately i see white smoke come from the starter area, i didnt think much of cause i though it was the grease that was burrning off the headers from touching them. while the car was on i left the jumper cables connected , so both cars were connected. like 1 min later the whole car dies. i run to the back , cause thats were i have my battery, and i see the ground to the donor car(where the jumper cable was connected to was smoking) so i took them off. i tried turning the car on but it wouldnt do anything. not even the dome lights would turn on. i tried changin battery and nothing. still dead, deasd dead dead. it would spark when i would connect the hot wire to the new battery.

could it be that my starter burnt out and its not letting power through? any ideas. please help asap

Check yours grounds and check to make sure your power post (on the drivers side) has a good connection.... if you have power to NOTHING it has to be one of the main power or ground wires man....

your headlights and stuff will work even if the pcm is fried.... I bet its just a loose ground or power wire...

good luck!
