Default Window Motor

Is it the wiring or the window motor itself that's messed up when the window will go down but only come back up half way. Then I'll wait a while say maybe 20 minutes or so an press the button and it'll roll all the way back up. I've already replaced the switch with a new one and it does the same thing.

Hehe, im having the exact same problem. Accept i dont have to wait as long... 30 second or so and it will roll most of the way up... Im pretty sure its the motor itself. My passenger side is getting weak.. so im planning on replacing both. Any other opinions?

Mine does the same thing. Time for a new motor. Going to autozone and get one for 50.00 with a lifetime warr.

Hey guys... I had the same problem. I took it back to the dealer, and they replaced the motor under warranty. No problems since then <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />

I heard that mustang window motors work in our cars. They are supposed to be faster, more powerful, and last alot longer too.

The Autozone motors (made by Siemens) are better replacements for our underpowered, prone to breakage, replace with every oil change factory window motors. Also, the lifetime guarantee is pretty good too. I've replaced both my window motors, and haven't had a problem since.

Really guys, the Ford window motors are actually faster and better than the GM window motors. I'll probably end up getting the Autozone motors though because I need some quick.

My passenger side motor is slow as hell right now. Does anyone have a writeup/part # etc that confirms a window motor swap from a different car?

BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE WINDOW MOTOR/SWITCH take a minute to look in the fuse panel!!!!!! Inside, there is a 30 amp circuit breaker for the windows (cost like $3) REPLACE IT!!!!!!!

My car (2000 SS) was having the same problems.....I replaced the switch first ( it was easiest)same problem, replaced the motor (new from the dealer) same problem.......replaced the breaker PROBLEM FIXED!!!!!!!doh!!!!!!

Seriously, try the breaker FIRST.....it may not work for every one.....but i am willing to bet it will fix some of them.

I love working at Autozone!!!! 50 bucks - 20% = about what 40 bucks? ITS FUN!!!!!! I have saved close to 100 bucks on parts already!

I'm gunna have to buy 2 motors I guess. I had my passenger side changed under warranty and the driver side is gone and the passenger side is getting slow.
