Starter relay going bad?

Starter relay going bad? Some times when I go to start the car, it won't crank at all. If I come back some time later, it usually will crank fine. It happened again this morning, and I decided that I didn't want to wait for it, so I tried swapping relays. Swap the starter relay, and it turns over and starts on the second try.
Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before, and it was something other than the starter relay. I just want to make sure it wasn't coincidence that it worked after I swapped it.

It does it both. This thread was started when I tried starting it early in the morning to go to school. It did it again today after having driven around for a while and stopping at a store for a few minutes.
