Default Oil Change Time

I bought this car used so I'm not sure what type of oil was used. It has 105k and it needs an oil change. Is It too late 2 run synthetic if its been using regular? Thanks.

It is never too late to start using synthetic. That is a myth.

Every vehicle I've ever owned I put synthetic in within the first few days I buy it.

You could alternate regular oil, and then synthetic every other oil change, it wouldn't matter.

You could even mix the two and it wouldn't matter.

I no u can alternate but synthetic oils r more slippery than regular oil so and their cleaning abilities r better as well. I am just concerned that if the engine may have some minor sludge blocking a potential leak, the synthetic will clean it thus revealing a leak that otherwise would not have been there.

If that were the case, then you had a problem that needed to be fixed anyway, but didn't know it.
Oil detergency isn't related to it's ability to lubricate.

Try Pennzoil Platinum, these engines love that stuff.

I second this, I recently tried Pennzoil Ultra as well and like it a bit better.

Makes my engine much quieter, it has piston slap but with this oil i can hardly hear it, it's great.
