Default Soft ticking noise from engine

01' Trans Am Firehawk LS1,just got it. 14,500miles on it. Has a soft 'ticking' from the engine, goes up/down with gas pedal. The car obviously hasn't been driven much so am thinking it's gummed up a lifter or something in there. Thoughts?

Could just be injectors, could be a lifter, could be a bent pushrod.

With mileage that low, unless the car sat without running for a long time, I doubt it's a lifter. It could be a bent pushrod, if it's a manual car.

Mine had the same issue. The advice I was given was to check the EGR block off plates if you have long tubes or check the gaskets to the stock pipes and EGR. I was told an exhaust leak would produce the same sound. So hopefully it is that and you don't have to pull your heads to fix the problem. Good luck.

All of the above could be the noise. So the ticking gets louder and faster with throttle? If so,I would investigate an exhaust leak. I have noises like that too. I know these engines are deff not quiet being on my 3rd ls1 camaro

Using a stethoscope,it sounds like it's coming from the left rear cylinder. Put it on the exhaust there and can here the light tapping. Have long tube headers.

Does it sound like that? Mine does it as well, it's piston slap, pretty normal, some oils make it less noticeable, I use pennzoil platinum which quiets it down a bit.

My also ticks when applying the gas pedal, up/down, usually only when cold tho.

Hopefully that is what you're experiencing.

Mine makes that noise in the vid also. Sometimes it dosent. Mostly when its cold. It will do it when hot but very minimal. I used cheap supertech 5-30 with a quart of lucas oil stabiliser and it seemed the loudest then. Just recently put in penzoil platinum and its still there but not as bad. It seems to make a little different noise with different oils. Sometimes it makes me thing I have a exhaust leak.
