are you sure it's the shocks that are squeaking? a lot of people fail to realize that they are not the only piece of suspension that move

It's very likely the rear lower control arm bushings that are making the noise. I would inspect those first.

But new shocks can't hurt either.

friend of mine had some squeaking goin on with his car. he sprayed some pb blaster on the control arm bushings and it went away. i'd try this before anything else.

Check all your bushings first. I wouldn't use PB Blaster as it is a penetrating oil, but spray all your bushings / endlinks with WD40 or similar and report back. Shocks normally don't really squeek even when they are bad.

Any oil leaking out from the shocks/struts?

Search the general maintenance section:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...e-repairs-102/

It could be a the brake line bracket attached to the rear axle, its known to squeek. Also could be various bushings as mentioned already.
Regardless you should replace your factory shocks anyway with some that have better valving, you will get better ride quality, better handling and better feel. The factory shocks are the weakest link on these cars by FAR.
This would be a bare minimum:
