Default Side mirror glass

I just got in my new glass for my passenger side mirror. It has the plastic piece attatched to it. My question is how do I remove the old glass/plastic piece without damaging the power window parts inside the mirror console area?

Usually the inside plate comes out. I fix them at work all the time so Im just assuming its the same for a Camaro.

I tried tugging on it on the left and ride side to see if it would give. It didn't and I did not want to pull too hard and risk breaking something... Surely this can be done without having to take the ENTIRE mirror casing.

Yes I would think they would be the same...

Ive been a glass man by trade for 9 years and have never seen one that doesnt come apart. Just never fooled with an f-body's mirror. Its to dark to see anything tonight...like you I dont want to break anythig. If someone doesnt have an answer by tomorrow Ill definetly be able to tell you

Perfect. Sounds good. If it's any help my new mirror assembly came with some screws to put into the back of my new mirror. Looks like you screw them into the mirror console area itself then the backside of these screws snap into the back of the mirror maybe? Never seen any screws like this before

Yep its the same. There is a "T" in the center of the backing plate that snaps into plastic tabs. If you adjust you mirror facing down you can stick a flat screwdriver through the top and gently pop the T out of the snaps...its kind of hard and feels like its going to break but it will pop out.

Let me know if you need pics.

I was replacing my whole mirror and when i unscrewed the last screw the mirror fell to the ground about 3 feet. The glass came off.

I have removed my side mirror, but how do I get it on again? I can't get the T-shaped steel piece back onto the plastic. I have tried to use as much force as I dare and tried with a screwdriver from the side, but impossible
