Change Oil Light is on....
Never seen it before...how does it work. I just changed the oil 1000 miles ago and it comes on when it is started and stays on for a while and goes off.
Is it anything to worry about? Thx

Assuming your oil pressure & level are ok... did you reset the oil change clock when you last changed the oil? Turn on the ignition and hold the trip meter reset down for 10 sec. The oil light will blink & go off until computer tells you to it's time to change oil again.
It's a neat feature, for no other reason then that it reminds me to change my wife's oil as well :-)

I guess mine doesn't work right then cause I can change my oil now and reset the oil change light and go 2,500-3,000 miles and change the oil but not hit the button and it'll stay on for 1-2 more oil changes before it'll come on. But I'm not to worried about it though. I've read somewhere that it comes on based on the driving conditions of the car since the last reset.

It's a neat feature but for me, I'm putting in a quart or more every 3k for sure.
I got the new PCV for the engine, I'm hoping that slows down the girl's thirst for the slippery stuff.
