Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 at the moment...seems to get decent reviews, is easy to find (Wal-Mart), and seems to get along well with my LS1. It doesn't really stay in the engine that long mileage-wise since I only drive the car in nice weather, which means it usually gets changed out once a year. That's the main reason why I can't stomach paying more for oil...it would really be a waste, especially considering this engine will be coming out (and replaced) down the road.

Royal Purple. It's all I've ever used in my cars. With three cars to care for, I buy it by the case. I don't really notice the cost... it's just part of owning the cars to me.

Royal purple 10w30 extreme performece. I just got my firehawk and put royal purple on it. It made a difference since I changed it to it. I have been using it on my 08 g6 for the last 3 years. But i kind of have a hook up with it so i kind of get it for free....

with 112k miles on my Camaro, I have used M1 5w30 and 10w30, PP 5w30 and 10w30, Amsoil 5w30, and GC 0w30. GC gives me great oil pressure and burns the least out of all of them. If i cant find GC, then I use PP as it did better in my car than the others, even Amsoil.

Never used 20w50, is that a year round oil? I might try some next time.

20w-50 is recommended for stoker engines due to being a bit thicker. ive heard of several people using it that dont have strokers. a friend of mine bought an ls1 longblock and it came with a case of vr1 20w-50 and said to only run that oil.

Edelbrock Full Synthetic w/ Zinc

It destroys birds and kills unicorns, but my car runs great!
