What is this hose for?
What is this hose for/to?..
Its ripped completely off from the intake manifold, is it easy to replace? it seems to run completely back behind my intake manifold.
Part numbers or something?

I'd trace the lines all the way back to the top of the two valve covers. The plastic parts should be fine, but there are rubber junctions joining the sections which are likely to also be failing or near to much like the one pictured. You can also replace the PCV valve while you're in there (located near the rip inside that fat section of hose). They're cheap and good protection from oil getting sucked into the engine.

I was looking through on rock auto and ac delco's site and could only find the PCV Valve, and PCV Valve Connector.
They were only like 5 bucks together so I'll order a new set of those. The only problem is I can't seem to find the hose for it... Would I just need to go into a stealership?? or anyone else know where I can get one?

You should be able to piece together all the parts you need from an autoparts store for a lot less than that. It won't be OEM, but it works. If you pull the PCV circuit from your car it looks exactly like what is in that eBay ad. You can then see which rubber parts are worn or soft.

If the front looks likes that, more than likely the back of the PCV system that rests on the OPSU looks the same. That is why you see oil pooling under the TB. Just did the same thing to mine while pulling the intake off to clean up all the oil that was gumed up under the intake and leaking from the OPSU that was brittle and cracked.

The car burns 1 qt of oil every 3000 miles. This still won't drop the oil level below the fill line - but if this burning oil is indeed a "problem" and the can works as advertised, all of that oil should end up in the catch can, right? Then what???
One would need to empty the catch can every 500 miles to drain the oil back in to the crank case as the can fills up. (Otherwise it would overflow and the excess oil would go back in to the intake and get burnt up.)
If the can doesn't fill up that fast, then its not catching the majority of the burning oil. If it does fill up that fast, then its created a lot of extra maintenance and work for the owner. Or, am I missing something?

GM's TSB was very clear that the orifice PCV (the other design) should only be used on engines that burn more than 1 qt. every 3000 miles. If it performed (emissions and otherwise) as well as the stock design, I'd expect that they would put it on every car.

Well, I'm not looking for looks, mainly just something to help out with the oil. Especially since, like above my hose ripped and it created a vacuum leak. :o
