Default Why is my car running hot?

I got a 98 camaro with 02 ls1 motor somehow i cracked a radiator so i replaced it. It ran fine for two weeks and it started running hot again so i replace the thermostat and it still gets to the 210 range it has never been that hot. Its always been right at the second line between 160 and 210. I dont think the heads r warped cuz it would get over 210 but it never gets over 210. Can anybody tell me what's up?

@210 is normal operating tempertaure. The fans do not come on until the 220~ range. As far as you saying its NEVER gotten that hot, I highly doubt that. I think you're just over reacting. Overheating is into the 230 and up range.

Boiling over at 210? Shouldn't be, you may have air in the system.

210.....losing coolant into the overflow tank....

Maybe you have the coolant crossover tube attached to the wrong port. It should be on the lower port just under the radiator cap on the back of the radiator. Overflow line goes to the top port.

Check that......

You must have had a bad or non-stock thermostat in there before.

If you have a properly sealed radiator cap and a proper mix of coolant to water, this is not physically possible unless the gases are coming from somewhere else - like a leaking head gasket.

your coolant temp sensor may be going bad. Would not hurt to replace it for about 12 bucks. I had similar issues.

I agree, my 98' TA has 109,000 and when im sitting at say a drive threw, she will climb to about 210 but never go over. but once i start rolling down the road and stuffing my face with them amazing french fries she runs back down in-between 160 - 210 Stock Therm and stock pump. shouldnt crack a radiator at 210, my girls 93' LT1 camaro over heated after i replaced the water pump, "idiot me didnt turn the heater on and let the car warm before adding more coolent so there was air in the lines :c" so the only thing we get to replace is the head gasket. had the heads and radiator pressure tested. might look into other things that could shock the radiator bud.

if your coolant is boiling out, and all you did was replace the radiator and you know your thermostat is good, i bet air pocket. check your coolant cross over lines first and make sure they are going to the right port on top of radiator. if that is good pull the top hose off that goes to the water pump and fill it with coolant till it starts coming out and re-attach to the top of the radiator. then check the levels in the overflow and the radiator and start it up and run it.
