Default Blinkers not blinking

Car is a 01 firebird formula. When i flick the turn signal either way. The blinker comes on but it just stays on and doesnt blink. What can cause this? I don't know how long its been like this as it was already this way when i bought the car. Just to note, i notice on the steering column there is no hazard light switch as this part of the column is missing. Could this be the issue? Thanks for your help.

I know when a bulb goes out, the blinkers will flash very quickly or very slowly. But with this car it just stops flashing?

Desert is right, when a bulb is out the blinker stays lit and doesn't flash.

If your bulbs are working it's most likely the flasher which is in the dash underneath the steering wheel. It's a small cylindrical piece, really easy to replace. You can pick it up for cheap at any parts store.

if your left blinker works and the right one does not then it is not your flasher. change out the bulb that is bad and it will all work just fine again.

cracked sotter connections in the bcm can cause this too , any other electrical issues like intermittent windows not moving up or down stereo shutting off and on ,etc...?

people will replace bad bulbs , flashers etc.. but when quoted the price of a new bcm by the dealer they will sell the car sometimes instead since you bought it this way it adds up.

Ok, but all the lights come on and when i flick the switch left or right the blinker lights do get brighter. They just don't blink.

Just an FYI bump, DO NOT get the flasher from Advanced Auto or O'Reilly. Both of them are cheap China crap that will not work. I had to return both of those flashers. Go with AC Delco 19209674 off amazon. Works perfectly.

China aftermarket replacement parts for the loss.

Good point. I had a flasher that was melted halfway through were the clip attaches. I just cant remember what brand it was. Mustve been a cheap one.
