Default BAD BAD NEWS for the TA

well last night when leaving the bar SUCK BANG BLOW bout midnight getting ready for bike week here on the inlet ext week
I left and hit the limiter a few times and when i got to the light I noticed some smoke so i pulled over and checked under the hood and saw nothing out of the ordinary but also looked under the car and OH SHI!!! a major puddle of oil so a got to the freaking house as quick as I could. ( all this is less than a mile bar to smoke to house)
when i got home oil pressure at ZERO I saw a trail of oil down the street and up the driveway ...girl is pissed!
and now oil what was left in the motor is now all over the garage floor WTF!! did i do?
I texted a friend of mine here on the board and he suggested to put some oil and crank it up and see where its coming from
so i did..
motor sounds normal even revved it up and sounds fine no knock ping nothing! oil pressure came back up
but under the car....oil started pouring ..i cant really see where its coming from ....looks to be from somewhere above the trans
any oil lines there? what can i check ?

I guess im gonna have to take it somewhere but i only like Tick Performance touching my car but that just to far to tow

LOL! i was out there in the middle of the night buzzed real good! scrubbing the driveway trying to clean the oil and made it worse...LOL

here some pictures

Just a guess... but rear main seal? I'll be sure to follow the responses on this one.

Possibly oil pressure sensor leaking. Reach behind the intake manifold by where the MAP sensor guess into the intake and see if there is oil at the base of the sensor. You won't be able to see the sensor but you may be able to stick your phone back there and take some blind pictures also.
It will look like this. Random image I edited

To check the rear seal I believe you have to pull the trans, but I'd wait for some folks with more experience than me to answer before you go yanking that out. From what I've seen you want to eliminate the other possibilities first (leaking oil pan, OPSU leaking, etc.) before you go straight to dropping the trans. Hopefully someone who has done this recently or has more experience than I do will give you more clear info. Either way I hope it's an easy fix for you.

If it's pouring down during just idle I would guess oil pressure sending unit. Reach your hand back there quick and see if it's wet or dry around the sensor

The plastic on the sensor can crack or blow out. Did you reach back there and check for oil leaking?

I have heard if you use oven cleaner on the oil spots it will clean them up. Don't quote me on it. look it up on the internets first.

Hitting the rev limiter won't break the OPSU, you need to get under the car while its started.

With a flashlight it will be pretty obvious where it's coming from

I was not trying to imply that the Rev limited took out the opsu by my posts. It would be a coincidence.

I was just giving the OP something to check that absolutly will gush oil when they go bad and it's easy to check and might luck out as opposed to a main seal ect.

back in my Honda days I had the rubber seal around the Vtec solenoid blow out and it was going through like half a quart for every 50 miles driven and that was a small hole (no more then an 1/8" inch wide), it's not impossible, just reach up there and see how far up the oil goes, if it's stops towards the bottom then likely to be a rear main if it goes higher then the OPSU is the next most likely.

yeah man I just went out there and tried....I cant fit my hand all the way but im pretty sure i was in the area where the OPSU should be and I wasnt able to even feel the top of the SU so i dunno
I guess im gonna have to pull the intake

LOL! im leaving it alone I think i did enough and made it worse. Its a stained driveway and im pretty sure oven cleaner will take the rest of the sealer off worse than i already have....LOL!

I did crawl under there while it was running. I put a quart of oil in and started the car and crawled under. I cant see EXACTLY where its coming from but its coming from above the trans cause i can see it flowing down the side of the trans.
the picture i posted shows it dripping from the between the bell housing and the oil pan.

hitting the rev limit wouldnt blow out the RMS either would it?

Im thinking it was just coincidence this all happened at the same time. Just hoping its not the RMS

cant be a hole in the block....something has to come from the inside the to blow the hole out and like i said the motor sounds fine.
