Default Someone recommend a battery for a garage queen

So the current battery is 6 years old and pretty much been near dead for a year, sitting in the garage on a trickle charger. Time to replace.
I read that Optimas are not what they used to be. Any recomendation for a car that spends most of it's time sitting in a hot garage in Florida?

I wouldn't buy an Optima after all the negative experiences I've read in recent years.

I just stick with the standard type batteries for my garage queens. 5-7 years is typical lifespan, though the current one in my '71 (a bigger Group 78) looks like it might last longer this time. I rarely drive my '98, about ~500 miles per year at most, so I use a smart charger every 2-3 weeks to keep the battery charged.

You don’t need a special battery, you need a float charger.

Any auto parts store battery and a good float charger is all you need.

In a warm climate, a deep cycle battery may be a good choice for you.

I have an optima red top and a float charger. So far working well.
The best strongest longest lasting battery prior to this was the NAPA premium...

Thanks for all the advice. Will definitely look in to a float charger.

I have several of these on vehicles and ATVs and they have been doing really good.
