Default Just wanted to see what your thoughts are on Mobil 1 oil

Just wanted to see what everyone thoughts where on Mobil 1 oil. I just did my oil change and added Mobil one and it seems like the lifters are making more noise now. It may be me. So what are your thoughts?

I didn't vote because in my case it is:

"Uses Mobil 1 when I can't find German Castrol Syntec"

With the Syntec, I use their 0w30...with the Mobil 1, it is 0w40. I just put the Mobil 1 0w40 in about 1000 miles ago, and it is running very well (this is the first time I've used this weight oil). Just started it up in 15 degree Indiana morning cold weather, and it turned over just fine. I also don't take it very easy on my car.

I'm not surprised that you can't...I found some up in the panhandle for a while, then it disappeared. I asked the guy behind the counter why they didn't carry it anymore, and all they told me was "I dunno, it just stopped coming."

I agree, I use the 0w40 Mobil 1 when I cant get Royal Purple. For some reason places here dont stock enough RP and are constantly running out

Moble 1 0-40 from the Benz dealer, good stuff. I use it in my talon TSI and that thing kills the oil, at 190,000 miles it went 13.8 at epping, not bad for a $2000 winter beater.

Yep, Mobil 1 0w40 European here as well. I like it better than the Mobil 1 5w30 I was using before.

Mobile 1 5w-30. One of the local dealers told me to use the GM 10-30 rather than what the owners manual said because it was written for cars in Detroit, not Seattle. I laughed at him and have been using the Mobile 1 ever since with no problems. In fact, it runs better than it did with the GM fluid.

I use mobil one 5w30, I have experimented with 10w30 and 15w40(by accident) and 5w30 has worked the best for me.

I'm running the German made Castrol Syntec 0w30 right now. I was running M1 before,,, no problems at all. No abnormal oil consumption issues like some report. I've just seen too many great reports from the German 0w30. If I could not find the GC 0w30,,, I would definitely use 0w40 M1.
